Semi Korean & Japanese Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
Unreal hidden gem. Delicious, authentic korean cuisine by a cute elderly Korean couple. Portions are filling and the price is affordable. I'll be back!
The cheapest gamjatang! My hubby has been there a lot since he was a kid. It's located inside the food court and only costs $12 (no tax) for a whole meal. It's hard to find this deal nowadays. Their gamjatang portions were quite generous - three pieces of pork bone, but no potatoes. It was okay for us because they served it with rice and some complimentary kimchi and it was quite filling. I ordered the seafood soup. I loved their soup as it was so flavorful. They also served a fish. Surprisingly, there weren't many bones. Additionally, we got the grilled mackerel, which we both loved. It only cost $5. The grilling and seasoning were perfect, and it paired well with the sour sauce.
It’s my first time trying out this place and I really liked it! This spot is more of a food court setting and casual. I got both the soup and the noodles. The pork bone soup has really large meat portions and super flavourful. It was so filling it was basically two meals for me personally. The noodles were tasted pretty good. They gave so much sauce that you can cover all basis of the noodles thoroughly. There was a decent amount of pork in the sauce. Both dishes were so affordable - the pork bone soup was $10 and the noodles were $8. I highly recommend this hidden place if you’re looking for some affordable and delicious Korean food in the area.
This is the only reason to stop by the Newin Centre Mall as this Korean eatery serves great dishes in the food court of this somewhat sketchy mall. This is a cash only place, run by an elderly Korean couple that serves Korean classics like Soondubu, Gamjatang, and Jjajangmyun. We also had the Donkatsu and the Spicy stir fried pork. Prices are reasonable and serving sizes are adequate. Make sure once you are done to return the dishes and tray back to them. Parking is available on the street or the plaza nearby.
I love this food court and this restaurant. Anything but pretentious. The prices are great and the meals smack of authenticity. The elderly couple who run it are sincere and sweet so you get a great meal and your heart gets warmed too. There's nothing corporate about any of the restaurants in this food court.
A tiny food court restaurant in Newin mall in Mississauga serving traditional Korean food at bargain prices. This place is owned by a friendly Korean couple who do everything including all the cooking. The pork bone soup is excellent with big meaty chunks of pork, the tofu soup was also flavourful. The pork katsu was a bit dry and just ok. After our meal the friendly lady owner stopped by to thank us and collect the dishes. A fun place to go if you’re in the area
One of the hidden gems of Mississauga. In business for over 20 years and price barely rose. Husband Wife power couple serves up mean pork bone and tofu soup, Korean house dishes. No intention of tricking the customer, only the intention of providing value. Hot and fresh always. House grown Kimchi.

Run by a warm, elderly Korean couple, this modest spot offers authentic Korean flavors with a side of genuine hospitality, making every visit feel like a comforting family meal.
The brilliance of Semi lies in its unapologetically simple and hearty fare. The standout dishes, such as gamjatang (pork bone soup), soondubu (soft tofu stew), and jjajangmyun (black bean noodles), boast generous portions that satisfy both appetite and soul. The gamjatang, in particular, delivers rich depths of flavor, pairing tender pork bones with a bowl full of soul-warming broth. Customers appreciate the affordability without compromise—meals ranging from $5 to $12, offering exceptional value for authentic Korean classics.
What truly elevates the experience at Semi is the balance between authenticity and approachability. The seafood soup surprises with its deep umami and minimal fish bones, while the perfectly grilled mackerel with sour sauce becomes an unexpected craving. The noodles are drenched generously in savory sauce, delivering bold flavors with each bite. Despite being based in a food court setting, the restaurant never sacrifices quality, making it a standout against the typical mall fare.
